RABBI’S STORY OF SYMPLICITY

A man from the United States set out on a journey to visit a famous Polish rabbi at his home in the woods. The visitor was astonished to see the renowned rabbi’s home was only a simple hut with only one room filled with books, plus a simple table and a bench.

“Rabbi,” he asked, “where is your furniture?”

The Rabbi answered, “Where is yours?”

The visitor said, “I’m only a visitor passing through.”

“Well so am I,” replied the rabbi.
